# AgriFarmer Development (Project information still being loaded)

Project details

Partner(s):

Similar to the development of AgriPlanner, Coronation Fund Managers have for the second time partnered with the South African Institute for Entrepreneurship for the development of business training materials for the small holder agricultural sector. The first model called AgriPlanner was successfully implemented all over the country. Subsequently, the feedback from the AgriPlanner training necessitated the development of a complimentary business development model that was built on the feedback from the first model. AgriPlan-It allows simulations to be more flexible and therefore more user friendly.

Our Involvement:

The South African Institute for Entrepreneurship develops sector specific business training programmes for implementation to identified NGOs (and also schools) countrywide and their community-development projects. The training modules are designed to deal practically with agricultural issues and provide specific entrepreneurial and business skills training applicable and necessary to facilitate the economic growth of home gardens, community food gardens and other agricultural projects from a source of food security to a source of wealth and economic prosperity. SAIE will pilot the development locally (i.e. in the Western Cape) and implement the piloted materials nationally to organisations which express interest in practical business training to complement their work in sustainable livelihoods.

Project Progress:

SAIE has successfully developed the AgriPlan-it series as a compliment to the previous AgriPlanner model. The SAIE Master trainers have successfully been trained in the new methodology and have started using the material instead of the AgriPlanner materials. The designated NGO that participated in the pilot phase of the project is the Surplus People’s Project. Development Projects

Through the process of project implementation and continuous reflections derived from evaluations, SAIE is constantly faced with opportunities to develop further innovative entrepreneurship solutions to challenging developmental and educational problems. In the past this has resulted in the internationally used BEST Game, AgriPlanner and AgriPlan-It, the BusinessVENTURES range and the Wings of Welcome tourism program. Once a development process is completed and a new product is created, it is then used in the course of our project implementation.
