Partner(s):This AgriPlanner training is being held for the Broederlijk Delen School in Kloof, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. The word Kloof (cf. cleft) means 'gorge' in Afrikaans and the area is named after the deep ravine formed by the Molweni stream (stream of high cliffs). The Kloof Gorge is part of the 4.47 square kilometers (1.7 sq mi) Krantzkloof Nature Reserve. Kloof extends from the top of Field's Hill and borders Winston Park, Gillitts, Forest Hills and Hillcrest. These suburbs are collectively known as the Upper Highway Area or the Outer West region of Durban. Broederlijk Delen gives local groups in the South the chance and opportunity to implement their own plans. In South Africa, Broederlijk Delen supports local communities to enable them to effectively fulfill their future with their own hands. Their partners perform their own analysis of their current situation. They decide what elements are of interest to them in their fight against poverty. And they search for their own solutions. Broederlijk Delen works with 17 partner organizations in South Africa. For more information, please visit http://www.broederlijkdelen.be/ Our Involvement:The Broederlijk School in Kloof has requested AgriPlanner facilitator training for 22 of its educators. SAIE's AgriPlanner enables communities to maximize their existing resources and boost production to the extent of surpassing subsistence levels of production and achieving small scale commercial viability. Project Progress:The training has not been scheduled to start. |
