Partner(s):The Cape Craft & Design Institute (CCDI) was set up in 2001 to promote and grow craft as an economic sector in the Western Cape province of South Africa. A Section 21 not-for-profit company, the CCDI is a joint initiative of the Provincial Government of the Western Cape and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The CCDI has also been adopted by the dti as a model Craft Hub, to serve as a template for the establishment of other similar craft institutes in the other provinces of South Africa. For more information, please visit: http://www.capecraftanddesign.org.za/ Our Involvement:Beyond the regular, formalized long term programs like BEST Game and BusinessVENTURES, SAIE business development expertise is also leveraged through independent agents as “special projects”. Because of the irregular character of the special projects, they do not have an established, ongoing program implementation mechanism, thus “special projects.” In most cases, independent agents conduct the training after receiving master trainer training from SAIE. In other cases, SAIE service providers and staff may conduct the training on behalf of the firm. The training is usually customized to meet the unique characteristics of the recipient groups. Project Progress:The training of 12 participants has been confirmed for the 16th, 17th and 18th November 2010. |
