Our Involvement:

Unlike regular SAIE entrepreneurship training programs which are carried out within South Africa, SAIE routinely conducts international trainings. In most cases, independent agents conduct the training after receiving master trainer training from SAIE. In other cases, SAIE service providers and staff may conduct the training on behalf of the firm. The training is usually customized to meet the unique characteristics of the recipient groups.

Project Progress:

In October 2006, EVI sponsored and ran a mini ToT for the Kibera Community Youth Program as their 2006 Environmental Enterprise Award organized by EVI. EVI sponsored a BEST Game to them to use in their local schools training program after interviewing them and finding this to be the most useful tool to award them with. (Kibera Youth Community Program is a remarkable group of about 90 youth from Kibera, the slum outside Nairobi, who run community projects and assemble mini solar panels as an income generator for their activities to provide access to radios and cell phones in the slum.)
