On the 4/5 and 18/19 October 2010, I ran the BEST Business Training with a group of 19 people. 15 completed the training after attending at least the last 3 trainings and completing their practical in between. We got the people through our new Educational/Cultural Centre and through an employment agency so all were unemployed, or underemployed. On the last night we handed out our business plan format which they have until Friday 28.10. to complete (with my help). The top 3 ideas will be given access to an interest-free loan (of €2500) to start that business or if they need less money we will give out more loans.
During the training, I was continuing to train Tanja Vojnovic in how to run this program. We still plan to possibly run these training sessions more frequently in the future. Tanja has higher education in economics and it was wonderful to have her help and during the third and fourth session she did all the teaching and did a really good job. One of the girls, Monika, won the practical by making over €250 by making and selling jewelry with her €5 loan. Her comment afterwards was the training was really helpful and she learnt a lot, even without realizing! Here she is (left) with friend Radmila and their certificates:
