Pambile Africa

Project details

Partner(s):

Focused on Agricultural Development and Training, Pambile is a BEE joint venture comprising a group of highly experienced agricultural experts and a team of exhuberantly youthful rising stars.

The vision of the company is to extend to agriculture in Africa, from its base in South Africa, by means of agricultural development in SADC countries. Agricultural development and rural agriculture are synonymous and in these circumstances, and economic development is largely associated with the improvement in rural development.

Thus to reach its goals, Pambile Africa carries out research development projects in this sector, from which it produces development strategies, and a development report by project.

As important are the social aspects, being mindful of pro-poor objectives, as social development and community development are key indicators of the successes of the programme development.

The outcomes of Pambile's efforts are seen through the training programmes it delivers, resulting in management development, management skills and strategy development through its training in agriculture.

Our Involvement:

Communities that are served by Pambile Africa receive SAIE’s AgriPlanner training to equip them with the technical expertise necessary for them to operate their micro agribusinesses professionally. Sixty recipients of AgriPlanner training diffuse their knowledge to the broader communities through subsequent training and mentoring. The user friendly AgriPlanner material is ideal for use in communities that suffer deficiencies in literacy levels.

Project Progress:

The training commenced on the 1st February and a total of 60 participants were trained over a period of eight days.

Featured Product

Agri Planner

The AgriPlanner business simulation training tool is designed to assist emerging farmers with their production capacity and financial planning. AgriPlanner goes beyond the practicalities of simply growing to look at how growers could make the most productive use of the land and maximize their financial income. It provides a comprehensive business development and entrepreneurship training programme that adds value to the gardening skills training programmes and enables growers and small-scale farmers to take the first steps from basic subsistence (food security) to income-generation and small business development. AgriPlanner directly supports growers in establishing and running viable businesses and gives the knowledge and means through which they can begin to enter the formal economy.
